Family Counseling
Time: By appointment

Family Counseling is offered for the families of substance abusers in acknowledgment that addiction is a family disease and the entire family would benefit from learning recovery skills. While the addict is dependent on a chemical the family members are dependent upon the addict's dysfunctional thinking and behaviors. Without addressing such issues in the context of family counseling, the entire family is likely to relapse and trigger the recovering addict back into use of a chemical. Family counseling is offered by appointment to support recovery for the addict and the entire family by addressing attitudes and unrealistic expectations. The family may participate whether or not the addict is actively continuing to use substances.

Intervention

School-based intervention services are provided to elementary, middle, and high school students in local towns. These intervention services include short-term counseling, crisis intervention, group counseling, and referral to professional services outside of the school systems.
